EASTON, Pa. - The Boston University field hockey team had its first Patriot League setback of the season on Saturday, dropping a 2-0 road contest to Lafayette at Rappolt Field.

BU, which got a six-save performance by senior Caroline Kelly, moves to 7-7 overall and 4-1 in league play.

The Leopards scored once in each half to earn their first conference win of the season and improve to 5-10 with a 1-3 PL mark.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The opening quarter was a back-and-forth affair with each team recording four shots.
BU earned the first corner of the game in the eighth minute and then successfully defended back-to-back Lafayette corners later in the opening quarter.
The Leopards opened the scoring off a corner in the 18th minute as Molly McAndrew converted off a redirect with an assist from Felicitas Hannes.
The Terriers earned the only three corners that took place after halftime but were unable to capitalize off them.
Lafayette got an insurance goal in the third quarter when Lineke Spaans scored off a reverse-stick shot to the right corner at the 40:32 mark.

GAME NOTES

BU had a 4-3 advantage in corners while the Leopards recorded 12 shots to the Terriers' nine.
Kelly made three of her six saves in the third quarter.
Raffi Fragomeni made two saves in goal for the Leopards to earn the shutout.

UP NEXT

The Terriers will return to action on Tuesday (Oct. 18) when they host No. 22 Maine in their final regular-season home contest.
