HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU struck first in the opening 58 seconds when Spaeth walked down the right side of the 12-meter fan and beat Catamount netminder Sophie McLaughlin (four saves).
- Vermont responded with three consecutive goals in a span of 3:23 to go up 3-1.
- Two unassisted tallies followed from BU; Kaye got enough space down the right side to deposit one into the nylon, then Reinertson went low to beat McLaughlin to tie the game at three heading into the second.
- Pinho and Lucchese scored within the first 2:13 of the second quarter, the latter on a woman-up scoop shot to put BU on top 5-3.
- The two sides traded goals for the next four minutes, with Reinertson scoring her second of the game on a bounce shot into the top-right corner at the 10:21 mark for a 7-5 Terrier edge.
- From there, the Catamounts capped the quarter with five straight goals to take a 10-7 advantage into halftime.
- The Catamount run went to six unanswered before Kaye executed a roll dodge to break free to her left and lace a shot into the back of the net to cut the Terrier deficit to 11-8 with 2:28 down in the third.
- With less than six minutes left in the stanza, Agres made back-to-back saves within a minute, including on a free position attempt from Ava Vasile. Sophomore Tobey Tick then deposited her first goal with 3:13 left to make it 12-9.
- Both sides traded goals in the final 2:28 of the third. Reinertson briefly was denied entry into the eight-meter arc, but stayed with the ball and buried a shot to complete the hat trick. BU went into the fourth down 13-10.
- The first goal of the fourth quarter didn't come in the first 8:56 of the period. Agres denied Grace Giancola with 8:48 remaining for the only save in that span.
- Vermont broke the ice with 6:04 to play as Claire Adelhelm found the back of the net twice within 1:18. Giancola capped the scoring with 2:39 to go on an unassisted tally.
- Graduate student Maggie Lohrer secured two of the Terriers' nine caused turnovers and also added a pair of ground balls.
- Reinertson and Barry tallied two ground balls apiece.
- This was Barry's fourth career game with 10 or more draw controls.
- Feeney set a new career high for draw controls while Gola matched her career best in that category.
- Nine of the Terriers' 10 goals were unassisted.
- BU will travel to Boston College on Saturday with opening draw scheduled for 12 p.m.
