Coker Repeats as Patriot League Player of the Week
April 26, 2022 | Softball
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After batting a stellar .611 in four victories, Boston University softball junior Caitlin Coker has repeated as Patriot League Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Player of the Week award marks the seventh overall in 11 weeks for the Terriers, who have been on an incredible program and conference record-breaking 23-game active win streak that also currently leads the nation. Coker has been a key factor in the team's success during that stretch, batting .456 with a team-high .543 on-base percentage.
This past week, the Downingtown, Pennsylvania, native, went 11-for-18 with seven RBIs, five runs, three doubles and a grand slam to claim her fourth overall weekly honor. She started off 4-for-5 with a double and run scored in the 3-2 11-inning win over Boston College and then followed up with another 4-for-5 performance with three RBIs in a 9-1 win at Colgate.
In the third contest, she went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and three runs scored in the 16-3(5) win and then ended the series sweep against the Raiders with a double and run scored. She also had a perfect fielding percentage at third base for the week.
The Terriers will remain on the road and next visit Army West Point for a three-game weekend series on April 30-May 1.
