Softball Team, 10 Terriers Recognized by NFCA for Academic Success

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After four-peating as conference regular season champions for the first time in program history, the Boston University softball squad was named a 2021-22 NFCA/Easton Division I All-Academic Team, as 10 Terriers earned All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced Monday afternoon.
While on the journey to its third-ever 40+ win season with the help of a program and Patriot League record 27 game win streak, BU was also excelling in the classroom with a team GPA of 3.58. A total of 16 Terriers were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll last month for posting a 3.20+ GPA with 10 of them finishing above 3.50+ for the individual NFCA recognition.
Both Nicole Amodio and Emily Gant were honored by the NFCA for the third time, while Caitlin Coker, Bella Gargicevich-Almeida, Julia Handfield, Aliyah Huerta-Leipner and Kate Pryor earned their second individual awards. Allison Boaz, Kennedy Ryman and Tyesha Williams were all recognized for the first time.
