BU improves to 3-4 overall and 1-0 in Patriot League play while the Mountain Hawks fall to 2-5 with an 0-1 conference mark.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team scored in the first quarter but the Terriers held a 3-1 advantage in shots on goal.
- The visitors opened the scoring in the 19th minute when Sarah Bonthuis intercepted a clearing pass and dribbled towards the left side of the circle, where she sent in a reverse-stick drive to the far corner.
- The Terriers notched an equalizer less than two minutes later as freshman Martu Coulo kept the ball inbounds along the left side before sending it towards Preece, who redirected it to the top of the cage for her first goal as a Terrier.
- After heading into halftime in a 1-1 deadlock, the Terriers came out flying in the third and ended up posting a 10-3 advantage in shots during the quarter.
- The go-ahead goal came off a penalty stroke in the 35th minute as Lehigh netminder Maddie Kahn got a piece of Anderson's attempt but it was not enough to prevent it from going in.
- BU continued to dominate play in the fourth and ended up with a pair of insurance goals.
- Off a corner, senior Casey Thompson slid the ball across the top of the circle to Anderson, who flicked it to the top left of the cage at 46:34 for her second tally of the contest.
- Thompson picked up another assist just over six minutes later when her entry ball from the right side was tipped in by Csejka by the near post.
