The Crimson opened the scoring in the 24th minute before adding a pair in the second-half en route to the victory. BU falls to 4-6 on the year while Harvard improves to 6-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kelly stopped all three shots on goal she faced in the opening period.
- The Terriers were presented with an opportunity to get on the board first in the 20th minute as freshman Martu Coulo moved the ball up the left side and into the circle before slipping the ball up top to an open Amalia Preece, whose hard shot was saved by Ellie Shahbo.
- The Crimson had six second-quarter corners and used one of them to take a 1-0 lead.
- Near the right post, Olivia Hoover redirected an offering from Bronte-May Brough to the back of the boards at the 23:16 mark.
- The Terriers earned a corner in the final moments of the opening half and nearly executed a perfect play but junior Tess Csejka's bid went off the right post and the Crimson were able to take a 1-0 lead into the break.
- BU nearly kept it a one-goal game heading into the fourth quarter but Mazarine Broze's second effort at the left post with no time remaining in the third got past Kelly and made it a 2-0 contest.
- After making 11 saves over the first three quarters, Kelly added another in the fourth but Harvard was able to tack one one more goal when a corner shot by Siofra Murdoch went off a BU stick and in at the 58:47 mark.
- Kelly's 12 saves were a season high and three off her career-best mark of 15.
- Harvard stretched its current win streak to five games.
- BU is now 20-18-1 all-time against the Crimson.
- There were five green cards issued in the game - three to Harvard and two to BU.
- BU will return to action on Saturday (Oct. 1) when it visits No. 25 American for a key Patriot League match-up.
- Both teams are 2-0 in league play.
- Game time in Washington, D.C., is set for 11 a.m.
