HOW IT HAPPENED
- Each team recorded one shot on goal in the opening quarter but the score remained 0-0 entering the second quarter.
- The Terriers got on the scoreboard first as Crowley intercepted a pass at the top of the AU zone and quickly created space while curling around a defender before finding Csejka at the left post at the 27:19 mark.
- American knotted the game off a corner in the 33rd minute as Federica Turina Dellamaggiore pounced on a rebound and sent the ball to the boards for her seventh goal of the season.
- BU regained the lead moments later when Crowley collected a loose ball off a rebound in the circle and spotted Preece open at the goalmoutth for the game-winner.
- While holding on to the 2-1 lead, the Terriers were the better team in the fourth, allowing just one shot on goal while threatening to extend the lead on the other end.
- American earned back-to-back corners in the 58th minute but Kelly and the BU defense were up to the task and secured the victory.
- Each team recorded nine shots on goal.
- Bryn Underwood recorded seven saves in goal for the Eagles.
- BU and Bucknell are now tied atop the Patriot League standings at 3-0 and the teams will meet on the final day of the regular season (Oct. 30).
- The Terriers have outscored their opponents 9-2 in Patriot League play this season.
- Csejka leads the Terriers in goals with seven and has needed just 20 shots to reach that mark.
- BU returns to action in one week when it plays host to Colgate on Saturday, Oct. 8.
- The Terriers will honor their senior class prior to the contest.
- Game time at Harvard's Berylson Field is set for 1 p.m.
