The Crimson scored twice in the first six minutes of play and then put together a four-goal second quarter to pull away from the Terriers.
BU is now an even 7-7 on the year while Harvard improves to 11-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Avery Donahue opened the scoring with her first of two goals on the night as she converted at the left post off a pass from Marie Schaefers at 4:44.
- Less than a minute later, Kitty Chapple scored off a corner to push the Harvard lead to 2-0.
- The Crimson put the game away with four goals in just over two minutes in the second quarter.
- Sage Pierkarski scored goals 39 seconds apart in the 20th minute.
- The visitors pushed the lead to 5-0 soon after on a goal from the right side of the circle by Lara Beekhuis.
- Donahue capped the spurt with her second tally of the contest at the 21:35 mark.
- Maddie Mullaney tacked on another Harvard goal 4:17 into the second half with an assist from Mullaney.
GAME NOTES
- Senior Kate Thomason played the first three quarters in goal for the Terriers and made eight saves.
- Freshman Sophie Ortyl was in goal for the final quarter and it marked her collegiate debut.
- Tessa Shahbo and Sofia Castore eached played a half in goal for Harvard.
UP NEXT
- The Terriers will return to action on Friday (Oct. 20) when they visit Colgate for a 4 p.m. contest.
- BU can clinch a spot in the Patriot League tournament with a win over the Raiders.
