Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Terriers Defeat Presbyterian, 15-6

CLINTON, S.C. – With nine different goal scorers, BU women's lacrosse (5-0, 0-0 PL) defeated Presbyterian, 15-6, on Sunday. BU remains undefeated on the season with the win.
 
BU built an early lead and stayed ahead the entire game. The Terriers had six goals by the close of the first quarter, with two a piece coming from Jennifer Barry and Claire Gola. After leading 8-4 at the half, freshman Elle Stevenson recorded her first career goal to help BU go up 9-4 early in the third.
 
A handful of key plays helped keep BU ahead, such as sophomore Matty Spaeth's goal which came off an intercepted pass. Junior Reilly Agres also made nine saves in net in the win.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • BU started the scoring with two goals within the third minute of the opening quarter.
  • Senior Claire Gola lit the lamp for the Terriers and was assisted by Barry.
  • Freshman Jayne Feeney then assisted junior Tobey Tick just 44 seconds later.
  • Presbyterian scored its first goal at the 11:18 mark.
  • Barry drove from the crease to score, unassisted, at the 10:51 mark.
  • She then followed up with an assist to Tick for her second of the day.
  • Gola set Barry up for a goal with 8:52 to go in the quarter while BU was on the player advantage.
  • After PC scored a goal of its own, Feeney found Gola with two seconds left in the opening stanza to help the Terriers close the first leading 6-2.
  • PC was first to strike in the second with a goal at the 13:18 mark.
  • Tick logged her next assist when she found Lauren Kaye with just under 10 minutes to go in the half.
  • Kaye scored again on the free position to close out BU's scoring for the half. The Terriers led 8-4 with the first 30 minutes in the books. 
  • In the third quarter, Maddie MacMaster helped set up freshman Elle Stevenson for her first collegiate goal. 
  • The Blue Hose responded with their fifth goal at 12:55.
  • At the 8:57 mark, Spaeth intercepted a pass which opened a chance for her to score and put the Terriers into double digits.
  • PC would score its final goal with 6:30 to go in the third, bringing their total to six. 
  • Junior Cassie Reinerston got a free position opportunity and converted to give BU its 11th goal.
  • Junioe Kaelin Isaacson grabbed her second goal of the season with 10 seconds to go in the third.
  • BU kept the Blue Hose scoreless through the entire fourth quarter. 
  • Kaye first set up Feeney for a goal at the 10:52 mark.
  • Sophomore Hannah Tillier continued her points streak with a free position goal at 10:05.
  • The final goal of the game came from Spaeth who scored with 2:30 to go, bringing the final score to BU 15, PC 6.
 
GAME NOTES
  • BU held PC to six goals which is the lowest totaled by an opponent this season. 
  • The Terriers outshot the Blue Hose 21-15.
  • BU was 12-for-14 on the clear while PC was 16-for-21.
  • The Terriers had 20 draw controls to the Blue Hose's four. 
 
UP NEXT
  • BU will head back down to South Carolina on March 7 for a matchup at Coastal Carolina. Opening draw is set for noon.
