The Boston University field hockey team enters its final two-game weekend of the regular season as it will host Colgate on Friday (Oct. 18) before visiting New Hampshire on Sunday (Oct. 20).
TERRIER TIDBITS
- The Terriers are now 5-7 on the year and are looking to snap a three-game skid, including a 4-2 loss to Northeastern on Sunday.
- Senior Payton Anderson continues to lead the team in both points (17) and goals (8).
- Anderson now stands tied for 10th on BU's career points list with 73.
- Junior Natalie Epperson has eight points on four goals while senior Tegan Poerio has seven points on the strength of five assists, which ties her for the team lead with junior Megan Wetzel.
- The Terriers have scored on 14 of their 58 corners this season for a conversion percentage of 24.1 percent, which ranks second in the nation.
- Graduate student Kate Thomason has started the past 10 contests in goal for BU and has a 2.31 goals-against average and a .733 save percentage, which are both career highs.
- Colgate has dropped its past five contests and most recently suffered a 7-0 road loss at Dartmouth on Sunday.
- The Raiders' wins this season have come against Mercyhurst and Central Michigan.
- Junior Grace Schmelzinger has a team-best eight points on three goals and two assists while classmate Anna Lochhead has six points on three goals.
- Colgate has eight defensive saves this season including three players with two apiece.
- Junior Claire van Kempen has started all 12 games and has posted a 3.75 goals-against average to go along with a .649 save percentage.
- BU is 13-1 all-time against the Raiders with the lone loss coming in the first-ever meeting in 1983.
- Last season, the Terriers posted a 6-2 road win at Colgate highlighted by a hat trick from Caroline O'Brien.
- UNH, which hosts No. 13 Albany on Friday, has won four of its past five games and is coming off a 3-2 home win over Vermont in conference play last Friday.
- The Wildcats improved to 3-0 in America East as they also have wins over Bryant and UC Davis.
- In non-conference play, UNH has victories against Providence, Lafayette and Quinnipiac.
- Sophomore Kathelijne Knuttel leads the team in points (27) and goals (12) while All-American Tasmin Cookman is right behind with 22 points on the strength of nine goals.
- Freshman Faye Meijer has 15 points, including a team-best seven assists.
- Fellow rookie Abby Johnson has started 10 of 12 games this season and currently has a .594 save percentage and a 2.55 goals-against average.
- Sunday will mark the 49th meeting all-time between the two programs.
- The Terriers are 26-19-3 all-time against the Wildcats.
- BU has won seven of its past eight games against UNH, including a 3-2 home last season.
- Caroline O'Brien tied last year's game in the 51st minute before Tegan Poerio provided the game-winner less than four minutes later.
- BU will close out its Patriot League schedule next Friday (Oct. 25) when it visits Lafayette.
- Game time in Easton is set for 6 p.m.
