Carpenter Claims Kelly Cup with Florida Everblades

ESTERO, Fla. - Former Boston University men's ice hockey standout Bobo Carpenter and the Florida Everblades claimed the ECHL's Kelly Cup for the third consecutive year, with the Everblades defeating the Kansas City Mavericks, 4-3, in overtime on Saturday to win the best-of-seven series, 4-1.
Carpenter played a pivotal role in the game five victory, as he tied the game at 1-1 just 1:09 into the second period before assisting on a pair of third-period goals to erase a 3-1 deficit, the last of which came with just 1:48 remaining in regulation. In addition to his brilliance in the clinching game, Carpenter was outstanding throughout the playoffs. He finished the postseason tied for first among all skaters with 23 points thanks to 11 assists and a league-best 12 goals. Carpenter has been with the Everblades for all three of their Kelly Cup victories, as Florida became the first franchise in ECHL history to win three consecutive championships.
