BOSTON – Highlighted by a program-record 23 home games and five contests against NCAA regional finalists, the three-time defending Patriot League champion Boston University softball team has unveiled the 2026 schedule.
Coming off last spring's 39-19 campaign that included their seventh NCAA appearance since 2016, the Terriers and 11th-year head coach Ashley Waters will compete in 12 contests against squads that posted a top-100 RPI and 25 total against teams that earned at least 20 wins. BU will be on the road for the first 22 contests before opening the home schedule against Quinnipiac on Wednesday, March 11, in a doubleheader set for a 12:30 p.m. start.
The Terriers' 39th season will get underway at UCF's Black & Gold Classic against CSU Bakersfield and the host Knights on Thursday, Feb. 5, in Orlando, Florida. Over the next three weeks, BU will spend time in the Carolinas with visits to South Carolina (Feb. 13-15), Charlotte (Feb. 20-22) and Duke (Feb. 27-March 1). The four multi-team events will feature a combined nine matchups against Power 4 schools, including the host Gamecocks and Blue Devils alongside four meetings with the Big Ten conference.
After ending the southern portion of the extended road trip against Northwestern (2x), Ohio State and Duke, the Terriers will visit Yale on March 7-8 for two contests apiece versus the Bulldogs and New Haven. BU will then open the home slate on March 11 with a doubleheader against Quinnipiac followed by two games against both UMass Lowell and Brown on March 14-15. Stonehill will visit on March 18 for a doubleheader as well.
Other non-conference matchups at home will feature Providence (April 8) in a doubleheader and visits by Rhode Island (April 21) on UMass (April 28). On the road for just one game at Harvard (April 14), BU will conclude the regular season with a doubleheader vs. Merrimack on May 2.
During Patriot League play, BU will open the conference schedule at Lafayette on March 21-22 and also visit both Colgate (April 11-12) and Army West Point (April 18-19). The Terriers will host Lehigh (March 28-29), Bucknell (April 4-5) and Holy Cross (April 25-26).
The Patriot League tournament will feature the top four teams in the standings with the top seed hosting on May 7-9.
