Terriers to End First Half With Home-And-Home Series Against No. 7 UConn

BOSTON – The Boston University women's ice hockey team will close out the first half of the season with a home-and-home series against No. 7 UConn. The Terriers travel to Storrs, Conn., for a 6 p.m. puck drop on Friday before hosing the Huskies on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Walter Brown Arena.
Saturday's game will feature a teddy bear toss in support of Boston Medical Center. Fans can purchase bears to toss at the game for $10.

TERRIER TIDBITS
- The Terriers most recently shut out Holy Cross, 3-0, in a Tuesday night tilt at the Hart Center Rink.
- Seniors Lilli Welcke and Luisa Welcke each scored one goal and registered one assist on the others' goal.
- Freshman Mia Vergilii scored her first collegiate goal.
- Seniors Sydney Healey, Clara Yuhn and Maeve Kelly also recorded assists.
- Junior Mari Pietersen made 19 saves in the shutout for the third of her career. All her collegiate shutouts have been against Holy Cross.
- Thirteen Terriers have found the back of the net while 15 have made at least one assist.
- The Terriers' faceoff win percentage of 0.557 leads Hockey East and is seventh in the nation.
- BU has the sixth-best scoring offense in Hockey East.
- The Terriers own a penalty killing percentage of 0.800 which is sixth in Hockey East.
- Li. Welcke leads the Terriers in faceoff wins with 176, which ranks third in Hockey East and 28th in the NCAA.
- Pietersen's save percentage (.915) is ranked seventh in Hockey East while graduate student Michelle Pasiechnyk's (.905) is ranked 10th.
- Yuhn is currently on a six-game points streak with three goals and four assists.
- Healey continues to lead the Terriers in points (14), goals (7) and assists (7).
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
- UConn is 12-3-1 overall with a 5-1-0 record in Hockey East play.
- The Huskies are 8-2-0 at home and 4-1-1 on the road.
- Most recently, UConn defeated No. 9 Quinnipiac, 4-3, and Yale, 3-2, in the Nutmeg Classic.
- The Huskies are on a four-game winning streak, scoring at least three goals in each game.
- UConn has been shut out once, losing 2-0 to then-No. 10 Clarkson on the road. This marked UConn's most recent road loss this season.
- Its last loss at home came against Boston College, 2-1, on Nov. 8.

- The last time BU defeated UConn was on Nov. 19, 2022, when the Terriers won in a 5-2 decision at home.
- BU last went unbeaten against UConn on Feb. 3, 2023, when it won the shootout after a 2-2 tie.
