Terriers Fall at Home to Eagles in Season Opener
February 9, 2025 | Women's Lacrosse
BOSTON — The Boston University women's lacrosse team kept it close in the first quarter, but ultimately could not hold on as the top-ranked Boston College Eagles defeated the Terriers, 21-6, at Nickerson Field on Sunday afternoon.
The score was 2-2 with 9 minutes to go in the first quarter before Boston College scored five straight goals to put themselves up 7-2 at the end of the first quarter on a chilly day at Nickerson Field.
The Terriers had highlights in two-goal games from both senior Avery Jones and sophomore Izzy Amonte, but the Eagles led 13-5 at halftime and pulled away from there, only allowing one goal in the second half of play. Sophomore Natalie Aiosa had a career day in goal, making 12 saves for BU.
