BOSTON — The Boston University women's lacrosse team will host the Sacred Heart Pioneers in a midweek clash on Wednesday, Feb. 12, with opening draw set for 4:30 p.m. on Nickerson Field.
The Terriers suffered a loss to top-ranked Boston College in their season opener on Sunday and seek their first win in 2025 with the Pioneers in town.

TERRIER TIDBITS
- Senior Avery Jones scored two goals, had two assists and picked up three ground balls in the loss to Boston College on Sunday.
- She tied career highs in points, assists and ground balls.
- Also scoring twice for BU was sophomore Izabella Amonte, who was making her career debut after missing all of last year with an injury.
- In net, sophomore Natalie Aiosa hit a career high in saves, stopping 12 shots. That number is second-most in the Patriot League this season.
- Sophomores Tessa Geddes and Alex Cutone joined in on the scoring, each adding their first goals of the year. Geddes is now on a nine-game points streak dating back to March of 2024.
- The Terriers saw four freshmen make their debuts in the arch Boston: Alexandra Burns, Eva Stagnaro, Kaitlyn Barton and Avery Mather opened their collegiate careers on the field.
- Junior Jayne Feeney currently leads the team in draw controls after snagging five against BC.
- The Pioneers enter this game after suffering a season-opening loss to Bryant by a score of 13-8.
- Last year, Sacred Heart went 11-6 and played LIU in the NEC Championship Game before falling 10-7.
- Sophomore Jamie Tanner, a Massachusetts native, is their leading scorer after posting a three-goal game against Bryant. She also added an assist.
- Goalkeeper Lisa Martin allowed 13 goals on 21 shots in the team's first action.
- BU is 1-1 against Sacred Heart and 1-0 at home.
- BU won the last meeting between these two teams, 15-3, back in 2008.
- The first matchup was played in 1996 at Sacred Heart, where the Pioneers won 13-11.
