
Women's Lacrosse Falls at Army, 18-8

WEST POINT, N.Y. — The Boston University women's lacrosse team could not keep up with the RV Army Black Knights in an 18-8 loss in the Patriot League opener in Michie Stadium on Saturday.
The Terriers (4-3, 0-1 PL) opened the scoring and ended the first period tied with Army, but the Black Knights (5-1, 1-0 PL) outscored BU 16-6 the rest of the way to secure a win.

- Sophomore Tessa Geddes opened the game with a goal off a free position for the Terriers, scoring just 1:04 into the game.
- The Black Knights tied it with 9:39 left in the first before junior Elle Stevenson potted her first goal of the game with 7:38 on the clock, finishing off a transition opportunity.
- Army tied it once again, scoring with 3:40 left in the first and the quarter came to a close at 2-2.
- The Black Knights would go on a tear in the second, scoring three straight goals before sophomore Izabella Amonte cut into the lead with her 14th goal of the season, making it 6-3 Army.
- Following Amonte's goal, the Black Knights scored five unanswered goals to end the first half and take a 10-3 lead into the break.
- Army got two goals in the first three minutes of the second half to extend its lead to 12-3.
- With 8:58 to play in the third, senior Avery Jones dodged her way toward the crease and found the net for her seventh goal of the year.
- Stevenson notched her second tally of the contest with 8:19 left in the third, making the Army lead 12-5.
- The Black Knights scored twice in the final eight minutes of the third quarter, taking a 14-5 lead into the final frame.
- After two Army goals, Geddes scored her second of the game and brought her season total to 14 with 7:20 left in the contest.
- Senior Hannah Tillier and Amonte also added goals in the final frame, but BU was outscored 4-3 in the fourth quarter.
- Army outdrew BU 21-8 and outshot the Terriers 27-14.
- The Terriers had 17 clears to the Black Knights' 13.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Natalie Aiosa made nine saves in the loss.
- The Terriers had three scorers with multiple goals in Amonte, Geddes and Stevenson.
- Geddes has now scored nine goals in three games. She is on a 15-game points streak dating back to the 2024 season.
- BU will travel to New Hampshire on Wednesday, March 12 for a contest with the Wildcats at Wildcat Stadium.
- Opening draw is set for 4 p.m. in Durham, New Hampshire.
