WELLESLEY, Mass. — The Boston University men's tennis team narrowly dropped a 4-3 decision to the Boston College Eagles on Friday night.

The Terriers (1-1) and Eagles (1-0) split singles play with each team winning three matches, and BC picked up doubles wins at second and third doubles to earn the victory.

In singles play, senior Jakob Esterowitz won his match in straight sets at first singles, 6-3, 6-3. Junior Payton Jim-On triumphed at the number two spot, trouncing his opponent, 6-1, 6-2. Freshman David Asenov also won his singles match, 7-6 (5), 7-5, at the number four spot.

BU will next head to Dartmouth on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 4 p.m.
