Women's Lacrosse Falls, 9-5, to Fairfield
February 14, 2026 | Women's Lacrosse
FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The Boston University women's lacrosse team dropped a 9-5 contest to the Fairfield Stags on Saturday, Feb. 14 at Rafferty Stadium.
The Terriers (2-1) struggled to score in the first half, mustering just one goal against a stingy Fairfield (2-1) defense. That allowed the Stags to take a 5-1 lead into the break and they held on over a back-and-forth final 30 minutes.
BU was only down by two entering the final frame after three goals in the third, but it wasn't enough. Senior Elle Stevenson ended the day with four goals and she was joined on the scoresheet by junior Izabella Amonte, who scored once. Freshman Avery Cutair once again was instrumental behind the cage, assisting on three goals, all Stevenson's.

- Fairfield then scored just 1:22 into the second quarter, but there would be no goals for the next 13:33.
- Stevenson's first tally came with five seconds left in the first half and the Terriers went into the break trailing 5-1.
- Coming out of the break, Amonte potted her goal off an assist from junior Leah Hodgins just 52 seconds into the frame.
- The Stags scored with 12:08 left in the third quarter, but then Stevenson had the final two tallies of the third, both times taking passes from Cutair.
- Her third goal came off a beautiful cutting move that the defense didn't see until it was too late. Once in the middle, Cutair found the Amherst, New Hampshire native for the strike.
- Ahead 6-4 in the final quarter, Fairfield got on the board after 2:36 of play, scoring its seventh goal.
- The Stags would score twice more in the fourth quarter before BU could get on the board again, as Stevenson tallied her fourth of the day with 2:52 left.
