September 10, 2000 | Women's Soccer
The Terrier womens soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Brown University of Sunday (September 10th) in the wrapup of the MSI/ECAC Womens Soccer Classic that was played at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School.
B.U. finished the Classic with an 0-2 record, as the team bowed to Boston College, 4-2, on Friday (September 8th).
The Terriers, who saw their record slip to 1-3 this season, had a marked advantage in shots over Brown, 22-12. The big difference was in the first half when B.U. outshot Brown, 12-4. It marked the second time this year they were blanked by a 1-0 score, as they lost to Pacific by that margin in the season opener on September 1st.
Brown, which had a 2-0 record in the Classic, scored the games only goal at the 80:05 mark of the game when Kim Lanziere converted on a Kristin Ferrell cornerkick.
Terrier freshman goalkeeper Jessica Clinton, who beat St. Marys by a 3-2 margin in her pervious performance this season, was charged with the loss. She had six saves, four of which came in the second half.
In the meantime, Brown keepers Mary Jo Markle, who played the first half, and Sarah Gervias, who played the second half each had six saves en route to the win.
