Palmer goes 6-for-7 on the day, Terriers win 18th conference game in a row
West Hartford, Conn. - Senior center fielder Kenya Palmer led the offensive charge, going 6-for-7 as the Boston University softball team swept the University of Hartford for the second time in as many days. The Terriers won the first game, 8-0, and took the second, 4-0.
The Terrier offense jumped on the Hawks early in game one, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning on an RBI sacrifice bunt by sophomore pitcher Robyn Horrick that scored Palmer. Horrick later scored on a throwing error by Hartford catcher Bryn Weller that made the score 2-0.
Palmer was the offensive catalyst in the fourth inning, as B. U. extended its lead to 3-0. It was Palmer's triple to left field that scored junior third baseman Aryn Rangel from first. The Terriers added two runs in the fifth frame on RBI hits by sophomore shortstop Kristin Knesek and Rangel that made the score 5-0.
B. U. put the game away in the sixth, scoring three more runs to give B. U. an eight-run lead and invoking the eight-run rule that wiped out the seventh inning.
