Dreyer and Lee Earn AE All-Championship Team Accolades
November 6, 2006 | Women's Soccer
It is the first such honor for both seniors.
Dreyer has had a banner year in her senior campaign, rewriting the record books. Her 12 shutouts this season broke an 11-year old record originally set by Kara Lange in 1995. Dreyer’s career 0.569 GAA is also a school-record, breaking Lange’s 0.62 GAA set in the same year. She is currently seventh in the nation in goals-against-average (0.379) and 15th in save percentage (0.877). Her GAA is a conference-best, while her 12 shutouts is the most of any America East goalie this season. In addition to being named to the All-Championship team, Dreyer was also a Second Team All-America East selection.
A starter since her freshman year, Lee has been the backbone of the Terrier’s defense all season. She has started in all but two games in four years, and has garnered numerous accolades over the years as an all-rookie selection and honorable mention in subsequent years. A terrific leader in the back, Lee kept the defense organized all season with her poise under pressure. In return, Lee was named to the First Team All-America East team.
As members of the 2006 senior class, Dreyer and Lee have posted a record of 52-20-14 to date and have won two America East Conference Championships. BU is 13-4-3 and 6-1-1 in conference action this season.
