Terriers Have Rough Weekend At ITAs and Brown Invitational

BOSTON - The Boston University women's tennis team experienced Murphy's Law first-hand this past weekend as the Terriers' flight to ITAs in Norfolk, Va. was cancelled and the Brown Invitational was not completed due to time constraints. Highlights of the weekend do include, however, junior Cori Lefkowith (Clayton, Mo.) going 3-0 and freshman Dasha Zakharchenko (Sochi, Russia) finishing 2-0 in singles at Brown.
Sophomore Francine Whu (Staten Island, N.Y.) and freshman Vanessa Steiner (Pittsburgh, Pa.) were entered in the main draw of the ITAs as singles players and together as a doubles team. Lefkowith, junior Danielle Abraham (Waukesha, Wis.), junior Yana Sadovskaya (Riga, Latvia), sophomore Liz Corrao (Holden, Mass.) and freshman Dasha Zakharchenko (Sochi, Russia) all competed at the Brown Invitational.
In addition to Lefkowith, Sadovskaya recorded a 2-1 singles mark in the Brown Flight, with wins over Susan Ma and Jessica Porter.
In doubles, Sadovskaya and Corrao teamed up for a 3-1 record, while Abraham and Lefkowith finished 2-1.
