Harper, Keller Collect First Hockey East Honors
October 3, 2016 | Men's Ice Hockey
After impressive showings in their first night in a Terrier uniform, freshmen Patrick Harper and Clayton Keller of the No. 3/4 Boston University men's ice hockey team have been named the Warrior Player of the Week and Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week by Hockey East, respectively, as announced by the league office on Monday.
In Saturday's 10-2 exhibition win over Prince Edward Island, Harper scored five goals on six shots and assisted on two more BU tallies for a seven point night. He had his hat trick secured 25 minutes into the contest and added a goal late in the second period before closing out the scoring with a shorthanded tally. The New Canaan, Connecticut, native had three goals at even-strength in addition to a power-play tally.
Keller made it two BU freshmen with hat tricks, scoring a power-play goal in each period to help the Terriers roll past the Panthers.
The Terriers will close out their preseason on Thursday when they host the U.S. National Under-18 Team at 7 p.m.
