Terriers Defeat No. 10/11 Boston College, 3-1
February 27, 2026 | Men's Ice Hockey
BOSTON - Three different Terriers lit the lamp and sophomore goaltender Mikhail Yegorov stopped 24 of the 25 shots he faced to lift the Boston University men's ice hockey team to a 3-1 win over No. 10/11 Boston College on Friday night at Agganis Arena.
BU (15-15-2, 11-11-0 HE) held a 2-0 lead after two periods thanks to goals by freshman Ryder Ritchie and sophomore Cole Eiserman. BC (19-11-1, 13-8-0 HE) got a power-play goal in the second period and pushed for an equalizer for the remainder of the night, but Yegorov stood tall and junior Jack Harvey ended all hope of a comeback with an empty-netter in the final minute.
Eiserman assisted on Harvey's insurance marker to complete a two-point night. Freshmen Jack Murtagh and Tynan Lawrence had the helpers on Ritchie's strike while sophomore Cole Hutson and freshman Charlie Trethewey assisted on Eiserman's goal.
Prior to puck drop, BU honored its Class of 2026, including senior Owen McLaughlin and four student managers whose hard work behind the scenes has been integral to the program's success.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ritchie gave the Terriers a 1-0 lead 11:18 into the proceedings. Lawrence made a nice move in the neutral zone to get past a defender before pushing the puck ahead to Murtagh, who had a step on his defender. Murtagh then backhanded the puck around an Eagle and right to the tape of Ritchie who made no mistake for his seventh strike of the season.
- Eiserman doubled the Terriers' advantage with 1:44 remaining in the first. Hutson
- Yegorov made a spectacular leg save early in the middle frame when Landan Resendes got behind the defense.
- BC got on the board with a power-play strike at 7:41 of the second stanza.
- Junior Mick Frechette made a great diving play to break up a grade-A scoring chance early in the third period to keep the Terriers in front.
- Yegorov stoned James Hagens on a 1-on-1 chance from the left circle with 6:45 to play.
- BC pulled Louka Cloutier (38 saves) in favor of an extra attacker with 1:53 on the clock.
- Eiserman made a great play to set up Harvey's empty-net goal. After Harvey and Bednarik combined to clear the puck from their own zone, Eiserman was first to the puck behind the vacant BC cage. He stopped and pushed the puck back up the right wall away from the BC defenders. Then, with two checkers coming at him along the half-wall and the remaining four Eagles all watching Eiserman, the sophomore whipped a no-look backhand feed through everyone and right to a wide-open Harvey for the easy finish.
- The Terriers outshot the Eagles, 41-25.
- Eiserman has notched a goal and an assist in each of his last two games, both Terrier victories.
- He has scored a goal in four of his last five appearances and has notched at least one point in all three BC games this year.
- Ritchie has lit the lamp in three of the last five contests.
- Harvey has found the back of the net in each of the last two games.
- Hutson and Murtagh have each recorded one goal and two assists across the last two tilts.
- BU and BC will conclude this weekend's series on Saturday night at Conte Forum.
- Puck drop on ESPN+ and NESN is scheduled for 7 p.m.
