The Boston University men's ice hockey team will continue its 104th season this weekend when the Terriers face Boston College for the next two editions of the Battle of Comm Ave. Puck drop on Friday at Agganis Arena is set for 7 p.m., with the teams concluding the weekend set at Conte Forum, also at 7 p.m.
Both games will be streamed on ESPN+, with an audio-only broadcast of both tilts located here. In addition, Saturday's game will be televised on NESN.
Senior Owen McLaughlin will be honored prior to puck drop on Friday, as will four of the Terriers' student managers.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU has been off since Feb. 14, when the Terriers earned a 5-3 win over New Hampshire at Agganis.
- Five different Terriers found the back of the net in the win.
- Freshman Jack Murtagh tallied one goal and one assist, as did sophomores Brandon Svoboda, Cole Hutson and Cole Eiserman.
- Junior captain Gavin McCarthy secured a pair of helpers while freshman Conrad Fondrk, sophomore Sacha Boisvert and sophomore Kamil Bednarik also recorded one assist apiece.
- Hutson is first among all Hockey East blue liners with nine goals and is second in both assists (18) and points (27).
- Senior Owen McLaughlin recorded his 100th career point on Feb. 13 at UNH.
- Eiserman has lit the lamp in three of his last four games and is now up to 13 goals this season.
- Bednarik paces the Terriers with a .553 faceoff win percentage, with freshman Tynan Lawrence not far behind him at .544.
BATTLES 301 AND 302
- The two teams have met 300 times during their longtime rivalry, with BU leading the series, 141-138-21 (.505).
- No other opponent has appeared on BU's schedule more often; Northeastern is the next closest, having faced BU 258 times since the 1930-31 season.
- The first game in BU Hockey history was on Feb. 6, 1918, against Boston College at Boston Arena.
- BC has won both meetings this season, including a 6-2 triumph in the Beanpot title game on Feb. 9.
- BU and BC have played 46 overtime games and the Eagles hold a 16-10-20 edge.
- The Terriers have 11 of the 22 shutouts in the series history.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
- BC moved into second place in the league standings by taking five of six points from UConn this past weekend.
- The Eagles have won eight of their last 10 games.
- Sophomore James Hagens had a hat trick in last Friday's 5-2 win and leads BC in goals (20), assists (18) and points (38).
- Sophomore Dean Letourneau is second on the squad in goals (18), assists (15) and points (33).
- Freshman goaltender Louka Cloutier is 18-8-1 in 27 appearances.
- He owns a 2.26 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage.
