
Hockey East Names Jake Oettinger Co-Goaltender of the Month

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - After an impressive start to his collegiate career, freshman Jake Oettinger of the No. 4 Boston University men's ice hockey team has been named the Hockey East Stop It Goaltending Co-Goaltender of the Month for October, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Oettinger, a Lakeville, Minnesota, native, has started all five contests for the Terriers thus far this season and currently boasts a .947 save percentage and 1.42 goals-against average, which rank fifth and sixth in the nation, respectively. He closed out October with back-to-back shutouts and his current shutout skein of 127:17 is the eighth-longest in program history.
Oettinger shared the monthly award with fellow freshman Stefanos Lekkas of Vermont. The top four goals-against averages among Hockey East goaltenders belong to freshmen.
