The Terriers are coming off a 5-1 triumph at Colgate on Friday and enter Sunday with a record of 6-4 overall with a 2-0 Patriot League mark. Duke needed a shootout to hold off No. 9 Boston College, 3-2, on Friday and now stands at 8-1 on the year and 2-1 in ACC play. The Blue Devils' lone loss was to Virginia on Sept. 8 but they have won all five of their games since then.
This will mark the 10th time in the past 12 years that BU and Duke will be facing off. The Blue Devils are undefeated during the stretch but five of the games were decided by a single goal, including three that went to overtime. Last season in Durham, Duke scored in the 69th minute to edge the Terriers, 2-1 and improve to 11-2 in the all-time series.
Duke is paced offensively this season by junior Rose Tynan, who has team highs in points (16) and goals (7). Three other players have recorded eight points: junior Erin Scherrer (4g) and seniors Ainsley Gill (3g, 2a) and Ashley Kristen (3g, 2a). Senior Alex Mackintire has seven points, including a team-best three assists.
Redshirt sophomore Sammi Steele has played every minute in goal thus far this season for the Blue Devils and has an 0.85 goals-against average and an .814 save percentage, which both rank in the top 10 nationally.
Now with seven goals on the year, freshman Ailsa Connolly continues to enjoy a strong rookie season atop the BU stat sheet. Senior co-captain Grace Boston has eight points on three goals and two assists while three others have tallied six points on the year. Freshmen Miya Denison and Petra Hall have three goals apiece while sophomore Kiley Gallagher has two markers and two assists. With five, senior co-captain Kali Shumock is the team's leader in assists.
In goal, freshman Millie Baker and junior Kathleen Keegan have each played a half in every game and both netminders have allowed nine goals. Baker has excelled as of late and brings a shutout skein of over 109 minutes into Sunday's tilt. Keegan holds a .679 - .625 advantage in save percentage.
