BU and Acadia have met one other time in a 4-2 win by the Terriers on Oct. 3, 2015. Shane Switzer scored the game-tying goal before Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson scored twice in the third period to secure the victory.
The Terriers return six of their top eight scorers from 2017-18, including senior co-captain Bobo Carpenter, who tied for the team lead in points last year with 35 on a squad-best 20 goals and 15 assists.
Sophomore Shane Bowers is back after a standout rookie season in which he tallied 17 goals and 15 assists in addition to a team-best +16 rating.
Junior co-captain Dante Fabbro leads the BU defenseman corps along with classmate Chad Krys, who is an assistant captain. The blue liners have combined for 85 points (27g, 58a) over the course of their first two seasons.
In goal, junior Jake Oettinger has been named to the Watch List for the Mike Richter Award, given annually to the nation's top goaltender. Last season, Oettinger made 38 starts and recorded a 2.45 goals-against average to go along with a .915 save percentage.
The Terriers rank eighth in both the USCHO.com Division I Poll and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll to start the season.
BU will kick off its regular season next weekend in Mankato, Minn., with a two-game series at No. 10 Minnesota State. The Terriers dropped a pair of contests to the Mavericks last season at Agganis Arena.
