Three Terriers Called Up to NHL
November 9, 2018 | Men's Ice Hockey
Over the past week, three former Boston University standouts were called up from the American Hockey League (AHL) to their parent clubs in the National Hockey League (NHL), bringing the total of Terriers playing in the NHL this season to 18.
Wade Megan was called up on Halloween from Grand Rapids before making his Detroit Red Wings debut the following night. Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson was promoted by the Boston Bruins on Friday and is expected to play on Saturday when they Bruins host Toronto. A.J. Greer joined the Colorado Avalanche on Nov. 1 for a game before being sent back down to the Colorado Eagles, but he was once again promoted on Thursday.
Megan played in a combined four games with the St. Louis Blues over the past two seasons before signing a two-way deal with Detroit this offseason. This is the first time since the 2016-17 regular-season finale that Forsbacka Karlsson is with the parent club and Greer has now played in 17 games at NHL level - all with Colorado - since his debut in 2016.
