BOSTON – Home for the first time in two weeks, the Boston University women's tennis team will host Binghamton on Saturday with doubles action slated to begin at 10 a.m.
Seeking head coach Lesley Sheehan's 400th career victory, the Terriers (3-2) are 2-0 at the Track & Tennis Center this year with wins over Providence and Rhode Island by a combined score of 12-2. They have won their last 23 matches at home dating back to a 4-3 loss to Dartmouth in 2014. BU coincidentally rallied from a two-point deficit to post a 4-3 win at Dartmouth on Feb. 2.Senior Sabrina Faybyshev leads BU with four singles wins in dual action, while both sophomore Katya Martens and freshman Shelly Yaloz own three wins apiece. Faybyshev has also teamed with sophomore Lily Burchell for a 3-1 mark at No. 2 doubles, while sophomore Emily Kim and Yaloz own a 3-2 record in the top slot.
BU was in the America East with Binghamton until joining the PL in the summer of 2013. The Bearcats are 0-7 this year with a 7-0 loss to another Patriot League member, Army West Point. They most recently dropped a 4-1 decision at St. John's.
The Terriers have won the last five meetings by a combined score of 33-2, including three straight 7-0 decisions at home.
