BOSTON – Looking to carry momentum from Thursday's 4-1 win over Rhode Island, the Boston University softball team will open Patriot League play by hosting Holy Cross in a Turnpike Trophy series with Saturday's doubleheader set to begin at 12 p.m. The rubber match will take place Sunday at 10 a.m. instead of the originally scheduled 12 p.m. to avoid the expected afternoon rain.
The Turnpike Trophy all-sports competition featuring BU and Holy Cross is in its fourth year with the Terriers currently owning a 12-3 advantage. The winner of the weekend series will add a point to its school's total.TERRIER TIDBITS
- Last season, BU went 15-3 in Patriot League play to claim its first regular season title since 2012 ... The Terriers swept all three PL tourney games en route to the NCAAs.
