Zegras Earns Spot on Hockey East All-Rookie Team

March 17, 2020

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Freshman forward Trevor Zegras of the Boston University men's ice hockey team has been selected to the Hockey East Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Zegras made an instant impact on the BU lineup and was among the nation's leaders in points all season. He finished his freshman year with 36 points on 11 goals and 25 assists, ranking second on the team in assists and third in points.

Among Division I freshmen, Zegras finished tied for third in points, tied for second in assists and second in power-play points (17). He was twice named Hockey East Rookie of the Week and is one one of three finalists for Hockey East Rookie of the Year, joining Boston College's Alex Newhook and Merrimack's Declan Carlile.

This continues an impressive streak for the Terriers, who have had at least one All-Rookie Team honoree in each of the past 13 seasons. BU's all-time total of 47 All-Rookie Team selections is seven more than any other school.
