Brown Named Hockey East Player of the Week

AMESBURY, Mass. - Senior Matt Brown of the Boston University men's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Brown was instrumental in the Terriers' 5-2 win over current No. 10 UConn on Saturday night. Brown collected a career-high four points thanks to two goals and two assists. Both his goals came in the second period, with his second strike of the game proving to be the game-winner. This was his first two-goal game as a Terrier and his third multiple-point effort in the Terriers' last four contests.
A native of Wood Ridge, New Jersey, Brown leads Hockey East in scoring with nine points thanks to four goals and five assists. Eight of those nine points have come against ranked foes. Brown has also been responsible for each of the Terriers' last two game-winning goals.
No. 9 BU will begin a home-and-home series with No. 18 UMass Lowell on Friday night at Tsongas Center (7:15 p.m.) before returning to Agganis to host the River Hawks on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
