Lane Hutson Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week

AMESBURY, Mass. - Freshman Lane Hutson of the Boston University men's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Hutson was the hero in the Terriers' 2-1 overtime win over No. 18 UMass Lowell on Saturday night at Agganis. He evened the score with 2:09 remaining in regulation and then notched the winner 2:29 into the extra session to secure an extra point in the Hockey East standings. It was his first multi-goal game as a Terrier and his third multi-point game of the year.
A native of North Barrington, Illinois, Hutson has shined through his first seven games in the NCAA. He leads all Hockey East freshmen in points per game at 1.14 and is second on the Terriers in goals (3), assists (5) and points (8). Hutson has also blocked 11 shots this season.
Hutson is the second Terrier to receive this honor from the league this season, as Ryan Greene was honored as the league's Rookie of the Week on Oct. 3.
BU will return to action on Nov. 11 when the Terriers begin a home-and-home series with No. 5 UMass in Amherst.
