Hutson Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week

AMESBURY, Mass. - Freshman Lane Hutson of the Boston University men's ice hockey team has been named Hockey East Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Hutson earned his second Rookie of the Week award of the season thanks to his overtime heroics on Saturday at Northeastern. He scored a highlight-reel goal to give BU a 4-3 road victory over the Huskies. Hutson also assisted on the Terriers' third-period equalizer that forced overtime. It was his second overtime-winning goal of the season, as he scored both goals in the Terriers' 2-1 OT triumph over UMass Lowell on Oct. 29 en route to his first Rookie of the Week accolade.
The reigning Hockey East Defender of the Month is currently tied for the team lead with eight assists and is tied for second on the squad with 12 points. No other Hockey East freshman has more assists than Hutson. Saturday was Hutson's fourth multi-point game of the year, which includes a three-assist effort in his collegiate debut against Bentley on Oct. 1.
BU will return to action on Wednesday when the Terriers host Notre Dame at Agganis Arena in a game that will be nationally televised on ESPNU.
