HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior Caitlin Coker led off with a walk and eventually made her way to third after Horita (single) and Roncin (walk) loaded the bases to set up Gant's RBI sac fly to center.
- Horita extended the lead to 2-0 on a wild pitch.
- Already hitting a homer against Avery on Saturday, Lafayette's Grace Harvey hit a two-out double and took third on an error, but Avery bounced back with her first strikeout.
- The Leopards earned a two-out walk in the second before Avery retired the final 13 batters to secure the shutout.
- Roncin started the third with a single before scoring on Gant's homer to right.
- Keleher followed with a double and eventually scored on freshman Tyesha Williams' two-out RBI single for the 5-0 lead.
- Roncin again reached home plate in the fourth by singling through the left side and scoring on Gant's RBI triple to right center.
- Sylvestri added another run with an infield single to plate Gant.
- BU put the game away in the sixth, as Roncin lined a homer off the top of the fence to start.
- With the bases loaded, senior Bella Gargicevich-Almeida delivered a deep fly ball to right to keep the outfielder off balance and help two Terriers score for the final 10-0 margin.
- BU will remain on the road and next visit UConn on Wednesday (March 30) at 4 p.m.
- The Terriers won two meetings against the Huskies in 2019 in South Carolina and will be visiting Storrs for the first time since 2013.
