WEST POINT, N.Y. – Opening Patriot League play, the defending conference champion Boston University women's tennis team claimed a 4-0 win over Loyola Maryland Sunday afternoon at Army West Point's Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
With their second consecutive shutout, the Terriers improve to 7-7 (1-0 PL), while the Greyhounds drop to 7-3-1 (2-2 PL). BU swept through doubles by a combined score of 18-4 and won the top three singles points in straight sets. The Terriers won the first set and were ahead in the second set in the other three matches that were left unfinished.

Victoria Carlsten and freshman
Michelle Kleynerman went a perfect 2-0, first teaming together for a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles. Carlsten followed up by dropping just one game in a dominating 6-0, 6-1 win in the top singles slot. Kleynerman secured a singles point as well by cruising to a 6-0, 6-3 win at line 3.

Emily Kim for a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles with Di Battista then posting a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles. Senior

BU will next face non-conference foe UConn on Saturday, April 2, with a 1 p.m. start time.
