BOSTON – Riding a 15-game win streak, the Boston University softball team will host in-state rival UMass on Wednesday with first pitch set for 3 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Terriers most recently claimed a 3-1 win against Providence this past Sunday in a non-conference matchup, while the Minutewomen went 2-1 over the weekend at fellow Atlantic 10 member George Mason.

- The 15-game win streak is currently tied for fifth longest in program history and is just three shy of the record set at the end of last season leading into the NCAA tournament. It's the fourth overall 15+ game win streak under head coach Ashley Waters with two taking place last season and her first in 2018.
- BU has won 19 straight home games dating back to last season for the second longest streak in the country.
- Junior Allison Boaz collected her second consecutive and fourth overall Patriot League Pitcher of the Week award on Tuesday after earning a pair of wins and posting a 0.54 ERA.
- Boaz (15-4) ranks 15th nationally in wins and 34th in ERA (1.49) with 77 strikeouts in 122.1 innings. Classmate Lizzy Avery (11-8, 2.68 ERA) has tallied 127 strikeouts in 115 innings while holding opponents to .222 batting average.
- Sophomore Kayla Roncin (.453) is one of five Terriers batting over .300 with 14 of her 58 hits going for extra bases. She leads BU with 37 runs scored.
- Senior Nicole Amodio (.294) leads BU with 33 RBIs, one more than senior Emily Gant (.411).
- Overall, BU is batting .307 and holding opponents to .244 with a 39-25 advantage in stolen bases and 16-2 lead in triples.
- UMass is 6-8 on the road this season with a pair of wins over URI and George Mason. Team went 1-1 against Patriot League member Army in Florida in March with 8-3 win and 5-4 loss.
- Bella Pantoja leads the Minutewomen at .319 with 24 runs scored.
- Chloe Whittier (.272) and Kendra Allen (.265) have combined for 44 RBIs, while Kristina Day (.235) owns four homers.
- Jessie DiPasquale (5-9, 4.53 ERA) and Julianne Bolton (6-6, 6.00 ERA) have combined for 132 strikeouts in 158 innings of work.
- Overall, UMass is batting .246 while holding teams to .315.
- BU is 6-15 all-time with a 2-4 home record after claiming a 3-1 victory in 2019.
- Gant hit a solo homer to tie the game and Huerta-Leipner delivered a two-RBI double in the sixth.
- The Terriers also won in New York in 2018 (7-4) to avenge a doubleheader loss at UMass in 2017.
- BU will resume Patriot League play by hosting Holy Cross in a three-game series over the weekend.
