Terrier Trio Claims Academic All-Patriot League Recognition

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Excelling in the classroom and on the field, Boston University softball graduate students Caitlin Coker and Allison Boaz joined sophomore Kasey Ricard on the Academic All-Patriot League team, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
The now six-time defending Patriot League regular season champion Terriers have now had at least three members recognized for the fourth consecutive year and fifth overall since joining the conference in the summer of 2013. Coker earned her fourth award, while both Boaz and Ricard collected their first career honors.
The trio have helped BU end the regular season No. 1 nationally in win-loss percentage (.917), shutouts (26) and earned run average (1.31) while also ranking in the top 40 in 12 categories. The Terriers enter the PL tournament on a 23-game unbeaten streak and are on a 35-game unbeaten streak at home.
Coker (Downingtown, Pa.) ranks tied-for-seventh nationally at 76 hits while also ranking 37th in batting average (.418) and 70th in runs per game (0.89). Named PL Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year, she owns a 3.88 GPA while participating in a joint bachelor's and master's program for biology.
Boaz (San Diego, Calif.) ranks 21st nationally in ERA (1.48), 34th in shutouts (5), 36th in wins (17) and 46th in hits allowed per seven innings (4.92). A two-time PL Pitcher of the Year and now three-time All-PL First Team honoree, she has a 3.68 GPA in grad school pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering.
The PL's first ever representative to be named to USA Softball's Top 25 Collegiate Player of the Year finalist list, Ricard (Littleton, Mass.) leads the nation with 14 solo shutouts while also owning the third-most strikeouts (241) and third-best hits allowed per seven innings mark (3.48). Named 2024 PL Pitcher of the Year, she owns a 3.87 GPA pursuing a bachelor's in health science.
