Commemorative Logo Unveiled for 300th Battle of Comm Ave
February 4, 2026 | Men's Ice Hockey
BOSTON - Boston College and Boston University have unveiled a commemorative logo for the 300th men's hockey edition of the Battle of Comm Ave, which will take place Monday night when the two teams compete in the championship game of the 73rd annual Dunkin' Men's Beanpot.
Two legendary head coaches who are synonymous with this rivalry will help celebrate the occasion, as Hockey Hall of Famers Jack Parker (Questrom '68, Hon. '97) and Jerry York (BC '67) will perform a ceremonial puck drop prior to Monday's title game. The pair skated against one another five times as players before coaching against each other on 82 occasions, including 16 times in the Beanpot.
The best rivalry in college hockey got its start 108 years ago this week when the two schools met at Boston Arena on Feb. 6, 1918, in what was the first-ever game in BU history. The Terriers lead the all-time series against BC, 141-137-21.
Monday's contest will be a rematch of the 2025 Beanpot championship game, which BU won, 4-1, for the Terriers' record 32nd title.
