The Boston University men's ice hockey team will begin its quest for an 11th Hockey East title when the sixth-seeded Terriers host 11th-seeded Vermont for a Hockey East opening-round game at Agganis Arena.. Puck drop is set for 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday's game will be streamed on ESPN+, with an audio-only broadcast located here.

TERRIER TIDBITS

BU is 82-45-1 all-time in the Hockey East Tournament, having qualified for all 41 editions of the league's postseason.
No other team has won more Hockey East tournament games than BU.
BU finished sixth in the Hockey East standings after a 4-3 loss at UMass Lowell on Saturday.
Sophomore Cole Eiserman notched two points (1g, 1a) while senior Owen McLaughlin and junior captain Gavin McCarthy also lit the lamp.
Sophomore Kamil Bednarik assisted on Eiserman's goal while classmates Sacha Boisvert and Brandon Svoboda had the helpers on McLaughlin's strike.
Eiserman has lit the lamp in each of the last four games and leads the team with 16 goals.
Sophomore Cole Hutson continues to lead BU in assists (21) and points (30).
McCarthy has recorded five points (2g, 3a) in his last four games.
Bednarik extended his point streak to four games with his assist at UML.
The Terriers went 7-for-7 on the penalty kill against the River Hawks.
They have killed off the last 11 power plays they have faced.
BU has scored first in each of its last four games.

HISTORY WITH VERMONT

The Terriers and Catamounts have played 100 times since the 1971-72 season, with BU holding a 64-26-10 (.690) advantage.
BU is 30-6-3 in the past 39 meetings, with UVM snapping an 11-game BU win streak in December.
From 1974-84, the teams shared time in the ECAC, with BU posting a 13-4-1 record against the Catamounts during the span.
Since the Catamounts joined Hockey East in 2005, the teams have met 59 times and BU holds a 37-15-7 advantage in those contests.
BU is 7-1-10 in 18 overtime games against UVM.

SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS

Vermont snapped a seven-game winless streak with a 5-3 home win over Maine on the final day of the regular season.
The Catamounts' last win prior to this past Saturday was a 6-1 triumph at Boston College on Feb. 6.
Reigning Hockey East Player of the Week Colin Kessler leads UVM in goals (10), assists (16) and points (26).
Kessler notched three points (2g, 1a) in Saturday's win over Maine.
Nine different Catamounts have recorded at least 10 points, but only Kessler has more than 15 points.
Freshman Aiden Wright has started 29 of the 31 games in which he has appeared.
He is 12-17-1 with a 3.10 goals-against average and an .892 save percentage.
