HOW IT HAPPENED
- McDevitt started the scoring just 1:58 into the first quarter, dodging toward the middle before slinging a shot home from her side.
- Off the ensuing draw, Geddes earned the draw control, then sprinted straight through the defense and scored in 12 seconds.
- The Leopards got on the board with 10:15 left in the first.
- Amonte took a pass from Cutair at 8:03 and curled around from behind the cage, firing home the Terriers' third goal.
- The Leopards scored three straight goals over the next 10:56 and took a 4-3 lead before the Terriers tallied six straight goals in the second quarter.
- First, Cutair found Stevenson at the top of the key, who drove through the defense and finished to tie the game.
- Then, with 10:44 left in the second, McDevitt potted her second goal after a hitch and dodge before turning to her trusty right-side shot.
- Geddes scored again at 10:10, as she used her speed to blaze past the Leopards defense and strike over the goalkeeper's right shoulder.
- McDevitt completed her first half hat-trick and put the BU lead at 7-4 as she wove through four Lafayette defenders and went over the goalkeeper's head.
- Walsh was the next scorer, this time at 7:33. She took a feed from Geddes and curled around her defender before beating the goalkeeper and emphatically dropping her stick as the Terriers took an 8-4 lead.
- Then O'Brien completed the six-goal run with a free-position tally before Lafayette broke through with its own free-position goal.
- Just before the halftime buzzer, McDevitt snuck a shot past the goalkeeper off an assist from junior Alex Cutone, putting BU up 10-5 entering the break.
- The Leopards scored the first three goals coming out of the break.
- BU got on the board with 5:23 remaining, as Geddes scored a free-position goal on a player-up opportunity.
- She repeated her free-position goal, again while the Terriers were up a player, to open the fourth quarter and give BU a 12-8 lead.
- The Leopards scored twice more before the BU defense hunkered down for the final 8:09 and neither team scored again.
- Senior Siri Hodgins recorded five caused turnovers, setting her career high. That mark is the most by a Patriot League player in a single game this season.
- McDevitt's four goals are a career high. She also shot a perfect 4-for-4.
- Geddes' four goals tied her career high, and her five points mark a new career high.
- On top of her scoring, Geddes also grabbed six ground balls, setting a new career high. That mark is the second-most in the conference in a single game this season.
- Geddes also snagged four draw controls and has 163 career DC — she ranks sixth all-time at BU in that category.
- Cutair now has 18 assists through nine games. That's the most by a Terrier in a single season since Jennifer Barry had 21 in 2023.
- The Terriers are now 10-3 against Lafayette all-time.
- BU went 3-for-5 on free-position shots.
- BU will conclude its four-game homestand with a game against Cornell on Tuesday, March 17 at Nickerson Field.
- Opening draw is scheduled for noon and will be streaming on ESPN+ and NESN+.
