Ricard Ends Regular Season With 21st PL Pitcher of the Week Award
May 4, 2026 | Softball
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After earning a pair of victories, Boston University softball senior Kasey Ricard concluded the regular season with her 21st career Patriot League Pitcher of the Week award, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
The honor marks Ricard's eighth of the season, topping the previous conference high of six held by Lehigh's Lisa Sweeney ('09) back in 2006. Before the 2026 season, Ricard, Ali DuBois ('21) and Audrey West ('96) had all previously collected five Pitcher of the Week awards in a single season at BU. Ricard's 21 combined awards eclipse the previous PL record of 16 held by Sweeney ('09) and DuBois' program record of 14.
A native of Littleton, Massachusetts, Ricard started off the final week by limiting UMass to three hits in a 3-1 road victory. After earning two strikeouts against the Minutewomen last Tuesday, she claimed 10 over five innings against two hits allowed in Saturday's 8-0 (5) home win over Merrimack.
The top-seeded and PL tournament host Terriers will next face No. 4 Lafayette on Thursday (May 7) with a 12 p.m. first pitch. No. 2 Colgate and No. 3 Army West Point will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the opening round of the double-elimination event.
