Former Terrier softball standout Meredith Fiorentino is in her seventh season as a volunteer assistant coach at Boston University. A four-year member of the softball team and a two-year captain, Fiorentino[apos]s name can be found near the top of nearly every Terrier offensive Top-10 list.
During the 1991 season, Fiorentino batted a team-record .414, which ranked ninth in the nation. She is near the top in career hits (ninth with 135), doubles (ninth with 20), triples (sixth with 8), RBI (sixth with 75), and slugging percentage (ninth at .404). She was part of a Terrier team that won the 1992 ECAC title, the Terriers[apos] only postseason championship.
Her commitment to excellence was not limited to the softball field. She as a four-year member of the BU field hockey team, where she was a co-captain her senior season. She helped the field hockey Terriers to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the national quarterfinals in 1993. That same year, she earned Academic All-America honors with a 3.59 grade-point average.
Fiorentino currently lives in Franklin, Mass., and works for Fidelity Investments as a business analyst. She graduated from BU[apos]s School of Management in 1992 and from the School of Education in 1995.
