WAKEFIELD, Mass. - After helping the Boston University men's ice hockey team record its best start in 13 years, freshman forward Jack Eichel has been named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month for October, as announced by the league office Tuesday.

Eichel posted two points per game in a perfect 4-0-0 month for the Terriers, matching the start of the 2001-02 squad. In his collegiate debut, Eichel recorded four points (2g, 2a) in an 8-1 triumph at Massachusetts on Oct. 10.

The North Chelmsford, Massachusetts, native currently leads Hockey East in conference scoring, recording three goals and four assists in league play. Over the month of October, he totaled eight points (4g, 4a) and a plus-9 rating.
