Shreck, Blauner Named PL Players of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Rachel Blauner and Jesse Shreck of the Boston University women's soccer team were named Patriot League Players of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
Blauner earned Defender of the Week honors after helping the Terriers hold both of their opponents scoreless last week and scoring the overtime game-winning goal at Loyola Maryland on Saturday. Two minutes into the second overtime period, she received a pass from Erica Kosienski and took a shot from the top of the box that sailed over the keeper's hands to give BU its third-straight win and first on the road.
Shreck kicked the week off with a goal in the 25th minute against Colgate that would eventually become the game-winning shot, earning her Midfielder of the Week honors. She also played a big offensive roll against the Greyhounds, totalling three shots including one on net on Saturday.
The Terriers are on a three-game winning streak and have shut out all of those oppontents. Without a midweek game this week, BU is back in action on Saturday at home against Lafayette at 1 p.m. on Nickerson Field.
