Badgett, Okmin Named 2017 Men's Lacrosse Captains
November 30, 2016 | Men's Lacrosse
The Boston University men's lacrosse team and head coach Ryan Polley announced on Wednesday that senior Brian Badgett and junior Conor Okmin will be co-captains for the 2017 season.
"I'm excited that Brian and Conor will be our captains for the 2017 season," Polley said. "They both have the respect of not only their peers but our staff as well, and I'm confident they will be excellent leaders both on and off the field."
Both Badgett and Okmin made their debuts as captains last year, one in which the Terriers finished with a winning record and achieved a national ranking as high as No. 16. They were voted back into this role by their teammates during the fall season.
On the field, Okmin appeared in 11 games, collecting four ground balls and causing one turnover. After missing the entire 2015 season due to injury, Badgett returned to the field in 2016 and played in 12 games, collecting 14 ground balls, causing five turnovers and chipping in an assist.
"I thought both Brian and Conor did an excellent job last year and I'm very excited to see them develop further as leaders not only on the field but in the locker room, in the classroom and in the community," Polley said.
