August 18, 2017 | General
For the 10th straight year, GoTerriers.com will once again count down the top 12 achievements of Boston University teams and student-athletes from the previous year. Check back each Tuesday and Friday as we reveal this year's Terrier Twelve.
Coming in at No. 1 in this year's Terrier Twelve is a record-setting Giving Day, as Boston University Athletics raised over one million dollars in the 24-hour campaign, nearly doubling its total from the previous year.
Fueled by over 3,500 gifts, the Boston University Department of Athletics exceeded its total from the previous giving day for the third straight year. while the total amount donated towards athletics made up nearly half of the two point three million dollars by the university on giving day. With less than an hour left, Giving Day Chair Mary Buletza (Questrom'80), who helped set up thirty-seven donor challenges for the day, worked with AD Drew Marrochello and the development team to led a furious push in the final hour to reach the one-million dollar mark.
For the second straight year, the Boston University Department of Athletics had 100 percent of its full-time employees make a gift in support of BU student-athletes, as the outpouring of support from Terrier Nation paved the way for another record-breaking Giving Day.
