The Terriers (4-3) opened the season with four straight wins but come into the weekend on a three-game skid, most recently dropping an 8-1 contest at top-ranked UConn on Sunday.
Eight of BU's 13 goals this season have come from freshmen. Miya Denison and Ailsa Connolly are atop the squad's scoring list with three goals apiece while classmate Petra Hall has scored twice. Senior co-captain Grace Boston has five points on two goals and an assist.
Through seven games, senior Kathleen Keegan and freshman Millie Baker have split time in the BU goal with each playing a half in every game. Keegan holds an edge in both goals-against average (1.71 - 2.57) and save percentage (.714 - .526).
Lafayette (5-2) put together a three-game win streak that was capped by a 3-2 overtime triumph over Colgate in its Patriot League opener but dropped a 2-0 contest to Cornell in its most recent game on Monday.
The Leopards are paced by three players with six points apiece: senior Rosie Shanks (3g), freshman Grace Angelella (3g) and senior Ellen Colbourne (2g, 2a). Sophomore Sarah Park has started all seven games in net and owns a 1.49 goals against average to go with an .810 save percentage.
BU is 3-1 all-time against Lafayette with the lone loss coming last year in Easton in a shootout following a 1-1 draw through two overtimes. That snapped the Terriers' 7-0 start to the 2016 season.
Princeton (2-4) has faced five top-10 foes to open its season, while all six of its oppoents have been ranked. The Tigers are coming off a 2-1 upset over No. 10 Maryland, led by sophomore netminder's Grace Baylis career-high seven-save effort in Tuesday's contest.
Senior Ryan McCarthy leads the team in goals (4) and points (9). Freshmen Clara Roth (2g, 1a) and Julianna Tornetta (2g, 1a) follow, while Baylis has played every minute in net for the Tigers this season.
BU trails 3-9 in the all-time series, though two of its wins have come in the past four matchups. The Terriers handed Princeton a 2-1 defeat in overtime the last time the two squads faced off in 2005.
