HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dartmouth put the first goal on the scoreboard in the 19th minute by playing the ball from side to side and eventually rushing through the middle to set up Tiger Graham's shot past a diving senior Mike Bernardi.
- The Big Green only needed 48 seconds into the second half to extend the lead, as Graham headed in a cross from Amadu Kunateh, who successfully won control of the ball near the BU goal line.
- The Terriers rebounded from the two-goal deficit and dominated possession for most of the second half, posting 12 shots after tallying just three in the first half.
- Freshman Kari Petursson helped cut the deficit in half in the 79th minute by curling a 30-yard free kick from the right side into the box for McDonnell to bury.
- With four minutes left, sophomore George Abunaw rifled a shot attempt from 12 yards out that hit the post and bounced off a Dartmouth defender's foot to just cross the line before the keeper got hold of the ball.
- Bernardi had the lone save in the two overtime periods, as the teams recorded three shots apiece in a battle of counter attacks for the draw.
- Named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week twice already this month, McDonnell now owns six goals in the last four games after totaling seven through his first 36 appearances as a Terrier.
- Petursson became the fifth Terrier to record an assist this season after scoring the game winner in Friday's 3-2 come-from-behind win over UMass.
- Led by sophomore Austin D'Anna's game-high five shot attempts, BU recorded an 18-14 advantage in shots while tallying both of the game's corner kicks.
- Bernardi made his second start of the season and recorded four saves alongside Dartmouth's Chris Palacios.
- The Terriers lead the all-time series against Dartmouth dating back to 1950, 5-4-4, and are now riding a seven-game unbeaten streak.
- BU has scored seven of its eight goals in the second half this season.
- The Terriers will remain on the road and visit their second of three scheduled Ivy League opponents in Princeton on Saturday, Sept. 15.
- The ESPN+ broadcast will begin at 4 p.m.
- Princeton leads the all-time series, 2-0-2, with the teams battling to a 2-2 draw last season at Nickerson Field.
